Sad News At Passing Of Former Director

There was sad news for the society last Saturday morning with the news that former director, Joe Donoghue, had passed away after a recent illness. Joe had very strong ties with the society since he first worked with us on "Fiddler on the Roof" in 1990. Joe went on to direct a total of 13 shows for the society.

During his time involved with Castlerea musical society, Joe raised standards in every area of our productions and constantly strived to try different and better things. Every society member who met him will have their own particular memories of Joe, but all will agree that he gave unselfishly of his time and always encouraged and supported people who had a passion for doing what they loved. The society extends it's sympathy to the family and friends of Joe at this time.
