There was great excitement for the society over the weekend as the nominations for the AIMS Adjudication & Awards Scheme '10/'11 were announced. The society's production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" has been nominated for the Best Stage Management award, with Mary Heaney as our Stage Manager.

The nominations were announced during the AIMS Choral Festival in New Ross, Co. Wexford on Sunday last, the 22nd May.

The society has been nominated alongside Dundalk Musical Society's production of The Wizard of Oz and Real Theatre Company, Dublin's production of Les Miserables School Edition.

The award winners will be announced at the AIMS Awards banquet on Saturday 18th June in the INEC, Killarney. A large group from the society had already made plans to attend, but there will now be an added edge of excitement for the weekend.

There is another local connection to this year's nominations - Erica Flanagan, a native of the area, has again been nominated for Best Female Singer for her role as Katisha in Nenagh Chorla Society's production of Hot Mikado.
