The final details for Castlerea Musical Society's "Stars In Their Eyes" are just about wrapped up in preparation for the event on Friday night. We are delighted to announce that the guest M.C. on the night will be Mid-West Radio's Paul Claffey. There will be 20 acts performing on the night. Approximately half of these will be people from the locality, the other half will have travelled from other musical societies.
Among these will be some well known previous AIMS award winners such as Ronan Lardner from Tuam and Michael Coen and Dave Langan from Ballinrobe. Also performing on the night will be Sean Hosty, Donna Creaven, Olga Walshe, Olywn Cronin and Tara O'Carroll, all from Galway, Padraig Connaughton from Loughrea, Cathriona O'Connell from Athenry, David Flaherty from Longford and our friends from Boyle, Jordan Maye, Matt Burke, Lizi Brennan and Lynda Morgan.
Of course, some of the town's best known performers will also be taking part, including Daniel and Jimmy Doherty, Caroline Madigan, Gerry Miley and David and Frances Cooke.
Sound on the night will be provided by O'Neill's of Glenamaddy and the lighting designer for the event is Pascal Gough from Athlone. The main event will be followed by music from local band "Sustained" and a disco until late. Tickets for the night are €15 and can by booked by phoning Mary on 087 9677439.
