A number of current and former society members are currently in the business-end of rehearsals for "Come The Dawn" with Encore Theatre Company, Galway. Current members Daniel Doherty, Niall Heaney and Gerry Miley, and past members Natasha McGarry and Judith Campbell are all involved in what will be a world premiere production.
The show is the latest offering from writer/director Peter Kennedy and is based in Northern Ireland during the troubles. Peter has written numerous shows, including "God Bless Archie Dean" which our society performed in 2000, and is a native of Belfast. "Come The Dawn" is described as a "A Modern Opera – A Nightmare set amid the Ulster troubles of the pre-Good Friday Agreement era". "Come The Dawn" opens in the Town Hall Theatre, Galway on Monday 9th October and runs until Saturday 14th October. Tickets are on sale from 091-569777.
