The 2019 A.G.M. of Castlerea Musical Society took place last night, on Monday the 20th May. A reasonable crowd was in attendance as the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer gave their respective reports on Society activities over the previous 12 months.
As President of the Society, Christy Glynn was officially confirmed as an Honorary Life Member of the Society, much to the delight of those in attendance. Christy has been involved with the Society, both on and off-stage, for almost 50 years, and the Society is delighted to see him added to our list of Honorary Members.
The election of officers and committee members for the 2019/2020 season resulted in the following appointments:

The following were elected to the selection committee for the 2021 show: Janet Feeney, Mary Heaney, Niall Heaney & Clare Kelly. The Society's AIMS representatives for the 2019/2020 season are Janet Feeney, Mary Heaney & Julie Mannion.
The most eagerly-anticipated announcement of the night was that of the Selection Committee's choice of show for 2020. The show choice was revealed to be THE ADDAMS FAMILY. The Addams Family is a relatively new musical comedy with lots of parts and plenty of scope for chorus members of all ages to get involved. The show will be staged in April 2020. Further details will follow in due course.
Following some discussion on Society activities for the coming year, Chairperson Julie Mannion thanked those present for their attendance and closed the meeting.
